An initiative in Shandong to expand seafood production capacity to reduce stress on land for food security through upgraded mari-culture, sea ranching, stock enhancement and sustainable utilisation of natural fishery resources and related industries. By 2020, Shandong aims to restructure the industry and increase total seafood production to more than 10 million tons, with protein equivalent to 20 billion kilograms of grain.
