The National Energy Administration has released the national power industry statistics for 2022. Total power consumption was 8,637 TWh, up 3.6 percent y-o-y.
  • primary industry (agriculture) consumption was 114.6 TWh, up 10.4 percent y-o-y
  • secondary industry (mining and quarrying, manufacturing, production and supply of electricity, water and gas, and construction) consumption was 5,700.1 TWh, up 1.2 percent y-o-y
  • tertiary industry (services) consumption was 1,485.9 TWh, up 4.4 percent y-o-y
  • urban and rural residents' power consumption was 1,336.6 TWh, up 13.8 percent y-o-y
Cumulative installed power generation capacity reached 2560 GW, up 7.8 percent y-o-y.
  • hydropower reached 413 GW, up 5.8 percent y-o-y
    • average hours in operation went down by 194 hours for power plants above 6 GW
  • thermal power (coal and gas power) reached 1332 GW, up 2.7 percent y-o-y
    • average hours in operation went down by 65 hours for power plants above 6 GW
  • nuclear power reached 55 GW, up 4.4 percent y-o-y
  • wind power reached 365 GW, up 11.2 percent y-o-y
  • solar power reached 390 GW, up 28.1 percent y-o-y
The investment in power grid construction was C¥501.2 bn, up 2.0 percent y-o-y.
